FWD PRESEL

• ON: Temperature can be Preselected on the FWD cargo compartment service panel.
• OFF: Temperature selection from cockpit overrides Preselected temperature from service panel .
• ACTIV Light: Illuminates GREEN when FWD PRESEL is switched at on position or cargo compartment service panel ON/OFF toggle is momentary switched at ON.

Hot Air

• ON: Fan heater operates, provided BULK cargo compartment temperature is below the selected one and the BULK cargo door is closed.
• OFF: Fan heater operation is stopped. Inlet air is not heated.
• Fault Light: Comes on AMBER associated with ECAM message in case of:
  • Fan heater failure
  • Temperature sensor failure
  • Ventilation system failure
  • BULK cargo door not fully closed

Cooling

• OFF: Cold air valve is closed. No cold air is added to the Ventilation air.
• NORM: Cold air valve is partially open for normal operation.
• MAX: Cold air valve is fully open. Maximum quantity of cold air is supplied to Cool FWD cargo compartment.

ISOL Valve ( FWD / AFT / BULK )

• ON: The compartment Isolation valves are controlled open by the Ventilation controller, and the extract fan is running provided there is no smoke detection in the Cargo compartment and DITCHING is not selected.
• OFF: The compartment Isolation valves closed and the extract fan stop.
• Fault Light: Comes AMBER associated with ECAM caution when either inlet or outlet valve(s) is (are) not in agreement with the selected position.

Test

• The smoke detectors in the FWD, AFT and BULK Cargo compartment and the avionoc bay are Tested by the SDCU in sequence.
• BTL1/2 lights illuminates WHITE.
• SQUIB lights illuminates WHITE provided one of the two SQUIB filaments is serviceable.
• Smoke lights illuminates >RED on the overhed panel associated with ECAM warning and continuous repetitive chime.

DISCH Light
BTL1 or BTL2 light illuminates WHITE when the associated bottle is depressurized.

AVNC Smoke

• Smoke Light: Illuminates RED associated with an ECAM warning when Smoke is detected in the Avionics Ventilation duct.

Extract

• AUTO: On ground, with engine 2 and engine 3 not running, the INBD valve is closed and the OVBD valve is open, provided Ditching is not selected. In flight, or on ground with engine 2 or engine 3 running, the INBD valve is open and the OVBD valve is closed.
• OVRD: The INBD valve closes and the OVBD valve partially opens, provided Ditching is not selected.
• Fault Light: Illuminates AMBER, associated with ECAM caution when an Extract low flow is detected in the avionics compartment.

CAB Fans

• ON: The two Cabin Fans run. The air from the Cabin is blown to the avionics compartment and also to the mixer unit of the conditioning systems.
• OFF: The two Cabin Fans stop.

Engine Start

Wiper Selector
Each rotary selector controls its Wiper at either low or high speed.

Rain RPLNT
Controls the application of Rain Repellent fluid to the respective front windshield.

Flight Control

• PRIM 1: Control the flight control Primary computers ( FCPC ).
  • ON: The following functions are provided by each computer: Normal pitch, Normal Lateral, MLA Speed Brakes, Pitch Alternate, Pitch Direct, Roll Direct, Yaw Alternate, Ailerons Droop, Abnormal Attitude Law, Autopilot Order Acquisition
  • OFF: The corresponding computer is not active.
  • FAULT: Illuminates AMBER accompanied by ECAM caution activation when a failure is detected.
• SEC 1: Control the flight control Secondary computer ( FCSC ).
  • ON: The following functions are provided by each computer: Pitch Direct, Roll Direct, Yaw Alternate, Rudder Trim, Rudder Travel.
  • OFF: The corresponding computer is not active.
  • FAULT: Illuminates AMBER accompanied by ECAM caution activation when a failure is detected.

Temperature Select

• Left Knob: Allows any Temperature between 5°C ( 41°F ) and 25°C ( 107°F ). 12 o'clock position corresponds to 15°C ( 59°F ).
• Right Knob: Allows Temperature adjustment up to 25°C ( 107°F ).

Cargo Smoke FWD / AFT Agent
When Pressed the associated squib is ignited for discharge of the extinguishing Agent in the associated Cargo compartment.

• Smoke Light: Illuminates RED associated with ECAM warning when Smoke is detected in the associated compartment.
• Squib Light: Illuminates WHITE in case of positive test.
