Function Keys
- DIR - Used to revise the active F-PLN.
- PROG - Access to the Progress page corresponding to the active flight phase.
It displays the CRZ, OPT and REC MAX flight levels, the active SPD mode, navigation information and more.
- PERF - Access to the PERF page that provide the optimum speed/Mach target to each flight phase.
- INIT - Displays the INIT pages for Initialize the FM for the flight.
- DATA - Access to various pages specifically devoted to navigation as sensor monitor pages, A/C STATUS pages.
- F-PLN - The Flight Plan pages achieve the lateral and vertical Flight Planning functions, and to display the various
predictions at the waypoints.
- RAD NAV - Access to the Radio Navigation page which displays the identification and frequency of the navaids tuned either
by the pilot or automatically by the FMGC.
- FUEL PRED - Displays the Fuel Prediction pages used for Fuel Prediction at DEST/ALTN as well as Fuel management data once
engines are started.
- SEC F-PLN - Access to the Secondary Flight Plan, generally used for diversion purposes, for predictable runway changes at
take off or landing or
for training purposes.
- MCDU MENU - Displays the subsystems currently accessible via the MCDU.
- AIRPORT - Displays the F-PLN page which includes the next airport along the current flight plan..
- Arrows - Allows to scroll up or down a page or to change pages when several are associated with the current display.
Scratchpad
A working area where data can be enter and verify before selecting the data to it's proper position.
Numeric Keys
Enter Numeric characters and + or - sign in scratch pad.
Keys Pad
Alpha Keys - allows the pilot to insert data in the scratchpad so that it can be line selected within the required display
OVFY Key - Overfly Key. This key allows a selected waypoint to be overflown.
CLR Key - Allows data in the scratchpad, or within certain displayed pages to be Cleared.
SP Key - Space Key for specific messages.
BRT Knob
Controls display brightness and keyboard illumination and switches off the MCDU.
Line Select Keys
The Line Keys are used to :
- Line select a parameter entered in the scratchpad
- access specific function pages indicated by a prompt, displayed on the adjacent line.
- Access the lateral or vertical revision pages from the F.PLN page.
Annunciators
They display advisory ( amber ) and alerting ( white ) messages.
