WHITE (W) - Present status situation, scales, armed flight mode displays
MAGENTA (M) - Command information, pointers, symbols, fly-to condition
BLUE (B) - Non-active or background information
RED (R) - Warning
AMBER (A) - Caution information, faults, flags


Symbol Name Mode Description
Route Data Route data: active waypoint (M), inactive waypoint (W) MAP, MAP CTR When the EFIS control panel DATA MAP switch is on, entered or procedural altitude and ETAs for route waypoints are displayed.
Holding Pattern Holding pattern: active route (M), modified route (W), inactive route (B) MAP, MAP CTR, PLN A fixed size holding pattern appears when in the flight plan. This pattern increases to correct size upon entering holdinq (Scale < 40NM).
Procedure Turn Procedure turn: active route (M), modified route (W), inactive route (B) MAP, MAP CTR, PLN A fixed size procedure turn appears when in the flight plan. It increases to correct size upon entering the procedure turn.
Offset Path Offset path and identifier: active route (M), modified route (W) MAP, MAP CTR, PLN Presents a dashed line parallel to and offset from the active or modified route. Selected on CDU ROUTE page.
Altitude Range Arc Altitude range arc (G) MAP, MAP CTR Based on vertical speed and groundspeed, indicates the approximate map position where the MCP altitude will be reached.
Altitude Profile Point And Identifier Altitude profile point and identifier (G) MAP, MAP CTR Indicates the approximate map position of the FIVIC-calculated T/C (top-of-climb), T/D (top-of-descent), S/C (step climb), and IEID (end of descent) points. Deceleration and predicted altitude/ETA points have no identifier.
Energy Management Circle Energy management circles (B, W) MAP, MAP CTR Indicates clean (B) and speedbrake (W) energy management circles as defined on the CDU OFFPATH DES page.
Reference Point and Bearing Selected reference point and bearing distance information (G) MAP, MAP CTR, PLN Displays the reference point selected on the CDU FIX page. Bearing and/or distance from the fix are displayed with dashes (G).
VOR VOR (B, G), DME/TACAN(B G), VORTAC (B, G) MAP, MAP CTR When the EFIS control panel STA map switch is selected on, appropriate navaids are displayed. Tuned VHF navaids are displayed in green, regardless of switch selection. When a navaid is,manually tuned the selected course and reciprocal are I displayed.
Weather Radar Return Weather radar returns (R, A, G, M) MAP, MAP CTR VOR, APP The most intense areas are displayed in red, lesser intensity in amber, and lowest intensity green. Turbulence is displayed in magenta.
Airplane Symbol Airplane symbol (W) MAP, MAP CTR VOR, APP Current airplane position is at the apex of the symbol.
Airplane Symbol Airplane symbol (W) VOR CTR, APP CTR Current airplane position is at the center of the triangle.
FMC Radio Update Status FMC-Radio update status (G) MAP, MAP CTR Displays FIVIC radio update mode (DD-DME DME; VD VOR-DME; LOC- Localizer.)
Position Trend Vector Position trend vector (W) (dashed line) MAP, MAP CTR Predicts position at the end of 30, 60, and 90 second intervals. Each segment represents 30 seconds. Based on bank angle and ground speed. Selected range determines the number of segments displayed. For range:
  • Greater than 20 NM, 3 segments
  • Equal to 20 NM, 2 segments
  • Equal to 10 NM, 1 segment
Vnav Path Pointer and Deviation Scale VNAV path pointer (M) and deviation scale (W) MAP, MAP CTR Displays vertical deviation from selected VNAV PATH during descent only. Scale indicates +/- 400 feet deviation. Digital display is provided when the pointer indicates more than +/- 400 feet.
ILS ILS localizer or VOR course deviation indication (M) and scale (W) VOR, VOR CTR, APP, APP CTR Displays LOC or VOR course deviation. Deviation indicator points in direction of VOR or ILS selected course. For ILS deviation, indicator fills (M) when less than 2 1/2 dots from center.
Selected Course Pointer and Line Selected course pointer (W) and line (M) VOR, VOR CTR, APP, APP CTR Displays CDU selected course.
Glide Slope Pointer and Scale Glide slope pointer (M) and scale (W) APP, APP CTR Displays glideslope position and deviation. Deviation indicator fills (M) when less than 2 1/2 dots from center.
To From Indication To/from indication (W) VOR CTR Located near airplane symbol. Displays VOR TO/FROM indicabon.
To From Indication To/from indication (W) VOR, VOR CTR Displays VOR to/from indication.
Selected Map Options Selected map options (B) MAP, MAP CTR Displays EFIS control panel selected map options.
VOR or ADF Selection VOR (G) or ADF (B) selection MAP, MAP CTR, VOR, VOR CTR, APP, APP CTR Located lower left or right corner. Represents positions of the EFIS control panel VOR/ADF switches.
