Engine Fire Shutoff Handles
Illuminates to indicate a fire in the associated engine. When pulled the handle:
- Closes the engine fuel and spar valves.
- Closes the engine bleed air valve.
- Trips the generator field and generator breaker.
- Shuts off fuel to the engine-driven hydraulic pump.
- Arms the fire extinguisher bottles.
Handles are locked until released automatically by any of the following:
- Fire Warning
- Electrically by the respective FUEL CONTROL switch being in CUTOFF.
- FIRE/OVHT test switch is pushed.
- Manually by the fire override button under each handle.
BTL DISCH Lights
Indicate low pressure in the associated fire extinguisher bottle.
APU Fire Shutoff Handle
Illuminates to indicate a fire in the APU or APU compartment. The APU shuts down immediately. When pulled the handle:
- Initiates APU shutdown if the automatic shutdown failed, bypassing the 60-second cool-down delay.
- Closes APU fuel valve.
- Closes APU bleed air valve.
- Trips APU generator field and generator breaker.
- Arms the fire extinguisher bottles.
- Silences the horn in wheel well.
Handles is locked until released automatically by any of the following:
- Fire Warning
- Pushing FIRE/OVHT TEST switch.
- Manually by the fire override button under each handle.
APU BTL DISCH Lights
Indicate low pressure in the APU fire extinguisher bottle.
Cargo Extinguisher Switches FWD/AFT
- Cargo Extinguisher Arm Switch - When Pushed
- FWD or AFT
- Turns off Pack NO. 3.
- Turns off all fans.
- Arms the extinguisher system to the associated compartment.
- Configures equipment cooling to the override mode.
- AFT only - Turns off aft cargo heat.
- Cargo Fire Warning Light FWD/AFT - Indicates fire (or smoke) in the associated cargo compartment.
- Cargo Fire Extinguisher ARMED Light - Indicates associated squibs in the cargo fire extinguishing system are armed.
DISCH Switch
- Discharges the respective fire extinguishers into the selected (armed) compartment.
- Initiates automatic extinguisher discharge sequence to provide effective agent concentration for three hours.
- DISCH Light - Indicate low pressure in the fire extinguisher bottles.
