Flight Director Switches

ON - Allows display of Flight Director command bars on associated ADI when associated Flight Director instrument source selector is positioned to an FCC not operating autopilot in CMD.

OFF - Removes command bars from associated ADI.

Disengage Bar

• UP - Allows autopilots to be engaged.
• DOWN - Disconnects all three autopilots from flight control servos preventing engagement of autopilots.

CMD Switches
Engage associated autopilot in vertical speed and heading hold modes if neither flight director is on, or if either flight director is in the takeoff or go-around mode.

Auto/Ihrottle Arm Switch

• ARM - Arms Autothrottle for engagement.
• OFF - Disarms Autothrottle, preventing engagement.

EPR Switch
Engages autothrottle to hold reference EPR displayed on EICAS, subject to maximum speed limits.

Speed Switch
Engages autothrottle to hold speed or Mach indicated in IAS / MACH indicator, subject to maximum and minimum speed limits.

IAS/MACH Switch
Indicates current or selected speed if V NAV is not engaged.

Speed Knob
Changes the value in the IAS / MACH indicator when rotated.

Heading Indicator
Indicates magnetic Heading selected with heading select (SEL) knob.

FL CH Switch
Engages Flight Level change mode to integrate AFDS pitch control and autothrottle for altitude change.

Altitude Indicator
Indicates altitude selected with altitude knob.

Vertical Speed Indicator
Indicates existing Vertical Speed when V/S switch is pushed to engage vertical speed mode.

Vertical Speed Selector
Changes value in the Vertical Speed Indicator.

Vertical/Speed Switch
Engages Vertical Speed mode.

Localizer Switch
Arms or engages AFDS to capture and track localizer front course.

Back Course Switch
Arms AFDS to capture and track inbound on localizer Back Course and outbound on front course.

Altitude Knob
Changes Altitude in Altitude indicator.

APP Switch
Arms AFDS to capture and track both localizer and glide slope.

Lateral Navigation Switch
Arms or engages lateral navigation mode of FMS, transferring roll and heading control of AFDS to the FMS.

Vertical Navigation Switch
Engages vertical navigation mode of FMS, transferring pitch and speed control of AFDS, and autothrottle control to FMS if above 400 feet radio altitude.

Heading HOLD Switch
Engages Heading HOLD Mode manually.

Altitude HOLD Switch
Engages Altitude HOLD mode manually.

Heading SEL & Bank Limit Selector

• Heading SEL Knob - Changes Heading in HDG indicator when rotated.
• BANK LIMIT Selector
  • AUTO - Limits Bank angle for AFDS in heading select mode to 15° at true airspeed above 250 knots, increasing progressively to 25° as true airspeed decreases below 250 knots to 200 knots.
  • 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 - Limits Bank angle for AFDS to selected value in heading select mode regardless of airspeed.

SEL Switch
Changes IAS / MACH indicator alternately from IAS to MACH if speed is within indicator range.
