ID Label
The top label is the plane's ID number and the bottom label is the SELCAL number.

Captain's Inboard Display Knob

• PFD - Display the PFD, blanks the PFD on the outer display unit and inhibits selections made from the display select panel.
• NAV - Display the ND and inhibits selections made from the display select panel.
• MFD - Display the selections made on the display select panel.
• EICAS
  • Display EICAS and inhibits selections made from the display select panel (except ENG, FUEL and AIR in compacted format).
  • Blanks the upper center display.

Captain's Heading Reference Switch

Selects Heading Reference for PFDs, NDs, AFDS and FMCs. When TRUE is selected, Heading Reference is true north regardless of latitude. When NORM is selected, Heading Reference is magnetic with the following exceptions:

• PFDs, NDs and FMCs automatically use true north reference north of 82° north or south of 82° south latitude or in the vicinity of the magnetic poles.
• There is no reference for AFDS roll mode other than LNAV north of 82 north or south of 82 south latitude or in the vicinity of the magnetic poles.

When the AFDS roll mode is HDG SEL switching the Heading Reference switch from NORM to TRUE or TRUE to NORM engages the HDG HOLD mode. When the AFDS roll mode is TRK SEL switching the Heading Reference switch from NORM to TRUE or TRUE to NORM engages the TRK HOLD mode.
