777 Photo and/or Graphic Element

The 777 is powered by two Pratt & Whitney PW4077 engines rated at 77,000 pounds of takeoff thrust each. Each high bypass turbofan engine is automatically controlled by an Electronic Engine Controller ( EEC ), which monitors autothrottle and manual throttle inputs. The N1 and N2 rotors are mechanically independent. The N2 rotor drives the engine accessory gearbox. Normally this Engine Screen is displayed on the upper center display unit of the Forward Instrument Panel, but should there be a failure, the Primary Engine Display is automatically switched to the lower center Secondary Engine Display unit of the Forward Instrument Panel.

Red Line / Start Limit Lines
Fuel Temperature Indicator
Indicates fuel temperature.
Total Fuel Indicator
Indicates the total amount of fuel carried in a center and two main (left/right) tanks. Each fuel tank contains 2 AC pumps and each pump is capable of suppling sufficient fuel to operate one engine under all conditions. The center tank pumps override the 2 main tank pumps so that the center tank fuel is used first. Any fuel pump can supply either engine.
Flaps Load Relief Indicator
Indicates flaps and/or slats are retracted automatically as required to prevent load damage. Commanded extension is inhibited due to excessive airspeed or altitude.
Flaps Indicator
Displays combined flap and slat positions when all surfaces are operating normally in the primary mode. The line and number change color from Magenta - slats and flaps are in transit , to Green - slats and flaps are in the commanded position.
Landing Gear Indicator
Indicates that the Landing Gear is either UP or Down and locked into position. A white crosshatch indication replaces UP or Down when gears are in transit. An empty white box is displayed if all landing gear position indicators are inoperative.
Engine Anti-Ice ( EAI )
Indicates that EAI is on.
Digital - Exhaust Gas Temperature ( EGT )
Displays EGT in °C. The display is White in normal operating range, Amber when maximum continuous limit is reached and Red when start or takeoff limit is reached.
Low Pressure Rotor Speed ( N1 )
N1 operating limit.
Wing Anti-Ice ( WAI )
Indicates Wing Anti-Ice is on.
Graphic - Exhaust Gas Temperature ( EGT )
Displays EGT in °C. The display is White in normal operating range, Amber when maximum continuous limit is reached and Red when start or takeoff limit is reached.
Low Pressure Rotor Speed ( N1 )
Display is White in normal mode and Red when limit is reached.
Engine Anti-Ice ( EAI )
Indicates that EAI is on.
Actual/Commanded Engine Pressure Ratio (EPR) Arc
Displays momentary difference between engine EPR and EPR commanded by thrust lever position.
Engine Pressure Ratio (EPR) Reference/Target
Total Air Temperature ( TAT )
Total Air Temperature in °C.
Graphic Engine Pressure Ratio ( EPR )
Left and Right Engine Graphic Actual EPR readings.
Low Pressure Rotor Speed ( N1 )
Display is White in normal range and Red when limit is reached.
Engine Pressure Ratio (EPR) Maximum
Maximum EPR level.
Engine Pressure
Thrust Reference Mode
Displays the thrust reference mode selected by the FMC. The modes are:
Digital Engine Pressure Ratio ( EPR )
Left and Right Engine Digital Actual EPR readings.
EPR / REV
Displays digital selected EPR Reference. REV replaces digital EPR reference when reverse thrust is activated. Amber when reversers are in transit; green when fully deployed.
Assumed Temperature
Selected Assumed Temperature for reduced thrust takeoff is displayed in °C.
