777 Photo and/or Graphic Element

The NDs provide navigation, route, traffic and weather information. There are two ND's, one each for the Captain and the First Officer.

Airport & Runway
Displays selected origin or destination runway and it's call number, and also it's Navigation Display range in 10, 20 or 40 Nautical Miles.
Global Positioning System ( GPS ) Indicator
Indicates GPS is on.
Wind Bearing/Speed and Direction Arrow
Indicates wind bearing, wind speed in knots and wind direction with respect to display orientation and Heading/Track reference.
Selected Receiver
Indicates the selected receiver as the display reference.
Selected Receiver
Indicates the selected receiver as the display reference.
Track & Heading Indicator
The Track and Heading indicator displays 3 settings. The selected numerical Track ( TRK ) or Heading ( HDG ) degree, the selected Magnetic ( MAG )
or True North ( TRU ) setting and it also points to the heading on the 360° Compass Rose.
Waypoint Data
PPD24 is the Waypoint's Name, 0443.2z is the FMC calculated ETA for active Waypoint and 26.6NM is the distance to the Waypoint.
TCAS Other Traffic Reference
Other traffic is another airplane that is within the Navigation Display limits but is neither an Resolution Advisories ( RA ), a
Traffic Advisories ( TA ) or Proximate Traffic.
There are several symbols that represent the Altitude of the oncoming traffic.
A Solid Square represents Resolution Advisories ( RA ) Traffic at relative altitude, a Solid Circle means Traffic Advisories ( TA ) at
relative altitude, a Solid Diamond is Proximate Traffic at relative altitude and the
TCAS Other Traffic symbol is a Hollow Diamond. The arrow
indicates traffic climbing or descending at a rate greater than or equal to 500 fpm. No arrow indicates the traffic is relatively level. The
numerical number represents the altitude of the traffic in thousand or hundred of feet. If the numeric is below the traffic symbol then the
traffic is below the plane or above the airplane if the numeric is above the traffic symbol. Absence of the numeric implies altitude is unknown.
TFC
Indicates the Navigation Display
TCAS display is active and the EFIS control panel TFC switch is selected on.
VNAV Path Pointer & Deviation Scale
Displays vertical deviation from selected VNAV Path during descent only. Scale indicates +/- 400 feet deviation. Digital display is provided
when the pointer indicates more than +/- 400 feet.
Selected Heading Bug
Displays the MCP selected heading. A dashed line may extend from the bug to the airplane symbol.
Ground and Air Speed
GS 136 is the current Ground Speed. TAS 142 is the current True Airspeed displayed above 100 knots.
Bearing Indicator
Indicates bearing to ( Head ) or from ( Tail ) the tuned station, if selected on the respective
EFIS control panel.
Reference Point
Displays the Reference Point selected on the CDU FIX page. Bearing and/or distance from the fix are displayed with dashes.
Expanded Compass ( Compass Rose )
A full 360° are available but only approximately 90° are displayed at a time. When 36 shows on the Compass Rose, the
Track/Heading indicator will show 0° for due north.
Flight Plan Path
The active route is displayed with a continuous line between waypoints. Active route modifications are displayed with short dashes
between waypoints while inactive routes are displayed with long dashes between waypoints.
Track Line
Indicates current track.
Waypoint
If active - represents the Waypoint the plane is currently navigating to. If inactive - represents the Waypoints on the active route.
Airplane Symbol
Current airplane's position is at the apex of the triangle.
DME Distance
Indicates distance to the reference navaid.
