WX Radar System Switch

• SYS L - Selects the left weather radar receiver transmitter unit.
• SYS R - Selects the right weather radar receiver transmitter unit.

WX Radar Mode Selector

• Test - Tests weather radar system operation without transmitting and displays the test pattern and fault messages on ND with WXR selected (except in the PLAN mode).
• Normal - Displays weather radar returns at the preset calibrated gain level.
• PCIP Level
• MID - Adjusts gain midway between the calibrated and maximum level.
• MAX - Adjusts gain to the maximum level.

Tilt Control Knob

Tilts the radar antenna up or down. Rotate clockwise provides tilt up. Rotate counterclockwise provides tilt down.

GND RTN Switch

• ON - Returns the weather radar to the normal operating mode.
• OFF - Reduces the amount of ground return.

TURB DET Switch
Turbulence detection requires the presence of detectable precipitation and is displayed in map ranges of 40 miles or less. Clear air turbulence cannot be detected by radar.

• PRECIP ONLY - Displays weather returns only.
• Both - Displays weather and turbulence returns.
• DOPPLER ONLY - Displays turbulence returns without precipitation.
